Well, tomorrow is the big day!! Lillie's birthday! At 7:30 AM tomorrow I am getting induced. It is so crazy to think that at this time in 24 hours I will be in labor at the hospital. Finally, after a long 39 weeks, we will get to meet our beautiful little girl!! :) So far this has been such an incredible journey, and an amazing learning experience. I am so thankful for the incredible group of family and friends that Chris and I have as support system. We truly could not imagine going through this without you, and we love you all so much! Lillie is one lucky little girl to have such wonderful people in her life that already love her so much. We truly are blessed. I can't believe the day is already here, we are so excited!!

38 Weeks!
Well I definitely didn't think I'd be making it this far!! And after the visit to the doctor today, I know for sure that this is my last week. I have an induction scheduled for next Wednesday (October 17th) at 7:30 AM. To be completely honest, I'm really hoping I go into labor before that. I've heard some not so pleasant things about getting induced, so if I can avoid it, I will. Chris and I are really hoping for a birthday on 10/11/12, which is tomorrow! I've been doing things all day to try to progress labor. I got a pedicure, had some spicy foods, and went on the elliptical. I'm currently bouncing on the exercise ball, and plan to eat pineapple in a few minutes. I also keep telling Lillie that tomorrow is her birthday, I guess we will find out soon enough if she agrees! :)

Lillie's Nursery!
Finally, here are some pictures of Lillie's nursery!! :)
I'd Eventually like to refinish and replace the hardware on the changing table, maybe stain it darker, or paint it white. I haven't quite decided yet.
A Trip to the Hospital
Saturday morning around 4:30 AM, I woke up feeling a few contractions. I didn't think much of it at first, I thought it was possibly just stomach cramps or Braxton Hicks, but then the pain started to intensify and occur frequently. I knew something was up so I called my sister Kayla (who is a nurse) to get her opinion. She told me that I needed to head to the hospital and so about an hour later I was checked in in the Family Birthing Center. My contractions were occuring every 4 minutes, and my cervix was dilating. I was told that I was being admitted for the day and baby Lillie was going to be making her arrivial! Chris and I were both very excited, and maybe just a tad bit nervous. ;) We were really looking forward to finally being able to see our little girl, but unfortunately after dilating to 3 cm, my labor stopped progressing. We think it's because I took a warm bath in the jetted tub in the hospital, and it relaxed me a little too much. I was sent home, and now it feels that the contractions have stopped completely. Although I was a little bummed that I wasn't able to have Lillie, I know it's healthier for her to cook as long as she can! I think she was just making a statement, telling the world that she is going to do whatever she wants, when she wants to. Maybe we're in for some trouble!! The doctors said that it could be anywhere from later that evening, to a week before labor continues. It has been 2 days now, so we are just patiently waiting. We will see what my OB says when I go in for a check up on Wednesday, if I make it that long! :)

37 Weeks!
37 Weeks, and still no baby! I am getting antsy now, and so is Chris. I had a doctors appointment yesterday, and I am still 2 cm dilated, and 50 percent effaced - same as last week. The doctor predicts that Lillie is about 7 pounds now, and at 39 weeks he will induce me if I have not had her by then. We completed our Childbirth Education class last Saturday, and although it was a long 8 hours we learned some pretty valuable relaxation techniques for labor, and Chris had to practice different ways to rub my back (definitely not complaining!) We also did a hospital tour to see the new Family Birthing Center. It is amazing, it feels more like a hotel than a hospital! I am really hoping Lillie decides to make her arrival sometime this week, but we will see. Only she knows her birthday! :)

36 Weeks!
We made it another week! Yayyyy! I went to the doctor yesterday and he said that I am still 2 cm dilated, and about 50 percent effaced. He thinks that I will make it until next week as long as I keep resting and taking it easy. The doctor said he would induce me at 39 weeks, but he said he thinks I will go naturally before then! I am feeling ready for Lillie to arrive, and have finished up pretty much everything on my "before she comes" to-do list. This Saturday we are attending our Childbirth Education class, so I am hoping to make it at least past this Saturday so that Chris and I have somewhat of an idea of what to expect during labor. Everyday we get more and more anxious to meet our little girl, it's only a matter of time now! :)

35 Weeks!
Holy cow!! Only 5 weeks to go... or so I thought! After an exciting visit to the doctor yesterday for my 35 week appointment, I found out that I am already 2 cm dilated! My doctor told me that I should be taking it easy, and no more work for me. He estimated that Lillie is just under 5 pounds, and he wants her to make it to at least 6 pounds before I deliver. I was never told what percentage effaced I was, but the doctor said that Lillie could come anytime within this week up to three weeks from now. He also said that I am DEFINITELY not making it to my due date! (October 23)
After hearing this exciting news, Chris and I can't wait to meet our little girl! We are working hard on all of the final touches of preparing for Lillie's arrival. Thanks to the help of all of our friends and family, we are a little less stressed! Last night we assembled the stroller, mastered the art of swaddling, and packed the diaper bag. A few nights ago we also assembled the crib (pictures of the nursery coming soon.) Parenthood here we come!! :)
